I May Destroy You

I May Destroy You

After a prolonged fashion draught where by this column frequently included hideous and now hopefully never to be used again words such as Loungewear and “Waist Up” dressing, all of a sudden i cant quite manage the virtual landslide of fashion related content there is to choose from. Celebrities are on the move again, the awards and the various PR juggernauts are back up and running and fashion week is back with a bang, which in turn means street-style is too and thats before i have even managed to digest the actual collections.

Its all very exciting, but to give you the lowdown on everything would require me to write this on a daily basis, so rather than rush it and squeeze everything into this little rectangle  today, I thought perhaps the best course of action was to highlight the best bits, the stuff i think you need to seek out right now, for a multitude of reasons, wether it be funny, inspiring, beautiful or just down right ridiculous (for e.g. Kim Kardashian in a full face & body stocking on the red carpet) The rest, particularly Fashion Week can wait, the shows held in September are for Spring Summer, the earliest the stock will hit the stores will be December, and the earliest we will be reaching for those trends will be March 2021.

In the coming weeks i will pull out the best bits from each of the International Fashion Weeks, street style trends you can recreate now and brands to watch out for (affordable ones I promise) ok so i promised you funny, inspiring and beautiful, allow me to point you  in the direction of Michaela Coel who this week took home the Emmy for writing her series “I May Destroy you’.  If you haven't already seen it, go watch it, its one of the most extraordinary, breathtaking things i have ever seen on television, if you have already, can we take a minute to appreciate her style, I know not of anyone else who could have pulled of the Neon Christopher John Rogers two piece she wore to collect her award, but it doesn’t stop there, the black cropped jacket and tuxedo trousers worn at the pre Emmy party, the white caped suit worn at the Emmy after party, the list goes on. With a special mention for her incredible sculpted arms. Yep, I'm a big fan.
